Overview

About the competition

Innovation India 2026

Innovation India is a national, hardware-first innovation challenge for school students in Classes 8–12. Students identify a real problem, design a practical solution and present either a working prototype or a technically credible idea.

Who can participate?

  • School students aged 13–18 on the event date
  • Individual students or teams of up to five students
  • Students must be enrolled in school
  • Registration is free of cost

Submission tracks

Track A — Hardware prototype

Submit clear prototype photographs and a short, publicly accessible demonstration video. A supporting project document or pitch deck may also be uploaded.

Track B — Idea with pitch deck

Submit a PDF, PPT or PPTX pitch deck containing the problem, proposed hardware solution, system architecture or schematic, expected impact and an indicative bill of materials.

Pure software submissions are not eligible. Every project must have a meaningful physical or hardware component.

Evaluation

Entries are reviewed for problem relevance, technical feasibility, innovation, hardware integration, impact, presentation and the team’s understanding of its work. Shortlisting does not guarantee an award; final decisions are based on the published evaluation process.

  • Pitch clarity and responses to judges

Each team receives a focused 5–7 minute evaluation window covering the problem, hardware or engineering design, demonstration or pitch, and judge questions.

Event-day schedule

  • 09:00 AM–10:00 AM: Reporting, registration verification and badge allocation
  • 10:00 AM–10:40 AM: Round 1
  • 10:45 AM–11:25 AM: Round 2
  • 11:30 AM–12:10 PM: Round 3
  • 12:15 PM–01:00 PM: Lunch and technical break
  • 01:05 PM–01:45 PM: Round 4
  • 01:50 PM–02:30 PM: Round 5
  • 02:30 PM–03:15 PM: Score consolidation and judges’ deliberation
  • 03:30 PM–05:30 PM: Awards, certificates and closing remarks

Teams are evaluated in eight-team rounds across four presentation tables, with two judging pairs and a controlled transition between sub-batches.

Important declaration

The submission must be the students’ original work. Submitted links must remain accessible to the organizers during screening and evaluation. Robotic Sir may contact the participant using the submitted registration details for event operations.

Social Impact, Culture & Heritage

Heritage preservation robotics, physical safety systems for public spaces, or accessibility devices built for underserved communities.
