What was the main objective of the workshop?

The objective was to help students understand how data, artificial intelligence, computer vision, electronics and mechanical systems work together in a real robotics application. The programme combined conceptual explanations with practical demonstrations.

How did the robotic hand respond to a student’s gesture?

A webcam captured the gesture, OpenCV processed the video frames and MediaPipe estimated 21 hand landmarks. Python logic converted those landmarks into target movements, PySerial sent the instructions to an Arduino and the Arduino controlled the robotic hand’s servo motors.

What is a 1-bit computer?

A 1 bit computer works with one binary digit at a time. Its two possible states help demonstrate the electronic switching and logical principles that underpin digital computers.

Students at Army Public School Ratnuchak, Jammu participated in an immersive two-day workshop designed to connect the ideas behind data, artificial intelligence, computer vision, robotics and core electronics with practical demonstrations.

Conducted on 12–13 October 2026, the programme helped students understand how software interprets information, how electronic hardware stores and processes data, and how these technologies work together inside intelligent machines.

Rather than presenting robotics and AI only as theoretical subjects, the workshop followed a learn-by-observing and learn-by-doing approach. Students examined a functional robotic-hand system, followed the flow of information from a webcam to the robot’s servo motors, explored electronic components and digital switching, and discussed how young innovators can transform technical ideas into practical projects.
